Learning Outcome 2 (U21): Be able to create a proposal and pitch for an original media product based on a given brief (P3 M2)

Questions

How will the online copy differ to the physical copy?

The online copy will be in page form, so there will be a button you can click to go in-between pages. the magazine will be scanned in and read like an actual magazine. You will also be able to bookmark the pages.

With the £3 to £4.50 price will that pay for everything that you need?

Depending on each magazine that will be released, will depend on how much we will need to cover the costs, if we have resources left over from previous weeks that we can use we will, meaning we won't need as many personnel which will affect if the price will be cheaper or not.

Would you be looking to pay for advertising for your magazine?

What I said in one of the briefs we will release the first copy and see how the advertisement goers from there and then we can make a judgement on if we need to get advertisements from there.

Is there any research to justify your colour choice?

Ive seen that a lot of magazines that are blue on the front cover, so I thought you can't have two bold bright colours, so I picked grey so it would contrast well.

What's the USP  for your magazine?

Well there's no magazines about music in Hertfordshire or celebrating musicians in Hertfordshire so I think having the artist in the magazine I think its good advertising for the musicians and my magazine.

Does the blue grey color scheme suggest pop music?

Not necessarily but I don't think there was really a defining colour for pop music

Is your magazine being targeted to male and female audiences?

Yes the magazine is targeted to both male and female audiences

How are you going to distribute your magazine?

It will be sold to super markets, we will give the a small amount of copies to see how well it sells, so then we will see how many copies we need to sell to the after, so we can judge how many copies they need after pervious sales.

How will you distribute an online copy?

There will be a website and people can subscribe on there and we will email them the link for each copy.

Feedback

Distribution

From the questions asked about how I will distribute my magazine, I will make sure for my final pitch I will add more to the distribution slide on my powerpoint and notes, and make sure I do more detailed research on distribution for my final pitch.

Colour scheme

from the questions asked about my colour scheme and its suitability, I will add more to my presnetation on why I think the colour scheme will work and why it is suitable. I will also add more about my colour scheme into my notes.

Price

From my feedback on my £3-£4.50 price I have decided that I will change the price to only £4.50 and have a subscription price at £40 a year. This way it keeps pricing simple and will pay for all cost needed.

Questions I may be asked

How may your magazine appeal to the people of Hertfordshire?

My magazine will appeal to the people in Hertfordshire as it will be celebrating and promoting pop music which is a very popular genre of music.  As well as this it will appeal to the people in Hertfordshire as all of the artists in the magazine are from Hertfordshire so readers can relate to there favourite local artist through the magazine

How come the magazine is only getting released monthly?

The magazine will only come out every month because Hertfordshire is a very small area therefore meaning I will only have a limited amount of content to write about. As well as that there is limited amount of pop musicians from Hertfordshire so there won't be enough musicians to make copies more frequent.

Do you think £4.50 is a reasonable price for your magazine?

Yes I completely agree with the £4.50 price for my magazine as it goes into paying for all the personnel and time and research that goes into making the magazine. Also there is no magazine like this in Hertfordshire so this is a niche magazine so I think the price is perfect.

What interests should your target audience have for them to enjoy the magazine?

The readers should enjoy music as a whole, but especially pop music. They should aslo enjoy reading about musicians in Hertfordshire and their life.
